Two Workshops on KMS Requirement Specification and Software Design Held at LGED-CReLIC at LGED Headquarters

Two workshops on the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) formulation and Software Analysis & Design for the Knowledge Management System (KMS) of LGED-CReLIC were held on Monday, 29 June, at the seminar hall of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) headquarters. The workshops were organized by the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Centre (CReLIC), operating under the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming Project (CRIMP) implemented by LGED.

Chief Engineer of LGED Md. Belal Hossain attended the event as chief guest. In his inaugural address he said, "The planned and effective use of accurate information and knowledge is indispensable for building a modern Bangladesh and addressing the risks of climate change. LGED continues to work tirelessly for infrastructure development in both rural and urban areas of the country. CReLIC's Knowledge Management System (KMS) will serve as a modern platform for engineers, researchers and policymakers to exchange the information and experience needed to build climate-resilient infrastructure."

The workshops were chaired by Md. Azharul Islam Additional Chief Engineer of LGED and Director of CReLIC. In his address he said, "The cornerstone of any sustainable software or system lies in its proper analysis and precise design. The SRS and Software Analysis & Design being finalized through today's workshops will play a vital role in creating a robust and user-friendly database for the future. I am optimistic that this initiative of CReLIC will greatly contribute to enhancing the institutional capacity of LGED and achieving long-term sustainable development goals."

Consultants from ADDIE Soft Ltd. the firm engaged for the assignment Software Developer Md. Shahnewaz Russell, AGM Md. Shariful Islam and Project Manager Md. Niamat Ullah presented detailed future work plans covering the SRS formulation and Software Analysis & Design for the KMS. The primary objective of the workshops was to gather valuable feedback from participants to make the system more effective and sustainable.

The workshops were also attended by LGED Additional Chief Engineers Syeda Asma Khatun, Kazi Saiful Kabir and Md. Wahiduzzaman along with project directors and executive engineers from various projects, senior assistant engineers, CRIMP-CReLIC Project Director Md. Abdul Khalek, SDIRIIP Project Director  Md. Latif Hossain, CReLIC Executive Engineer Fatema Ismat Ara, Assistant Engineer Arpon Paul and expert consultants of CReLIC.
