An
inception workshop on the development and maintenance of the Knowledge
Management System (KMS) organized by the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure
Centre (CReLIC) under the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming
Project (CRIMP) implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department
(LGED) was held on Sunday 12 April at the seminar room of the LGED
headquarters.
The
workshop was chaired by Engr. Md. Azharul Islam Additional Chief Engineer of
LGED and Director of CReLIC. Engr. Md. Belal Hossain Chief Engineer of LGED
attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his remarks, he emphasized that the
KMS would serve as a milestone in strengthening LGED’s institutional capacity
by ensuring the effective use of accurate climate-related data and information.
He further noted that the system would facilitate rapid knowledge sharing among
engineers and researchers, contributing significantly to the development of
sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure in the future.
During
the workshop, representatives of the consulting firm ADDIE Soft Ltd. Software
Developer Md. Shahnewaz Russell, AGM Md. Shariful Islam and Project Manager Md.
Niamat Ullah-delivered a detailed presentation outlining the objectives,
implementation strategy and future action plan of the Knowledge Management
System (KMS). The primary objective of the inception workshop was to gather
valuable feedback from participants to further enhance the effectiveness and
sustainability of the system.
Among others present at the workshop were Additional Chief Engineers Syeda Asma Khatun, Kazi Saiful Kabir and Md. Wahiduzzaman also; Superintending Engineers Md. Akhtar Hossain and Md. Golam Yazdani and Project Directors from various projects; Executive Engineers; Senior Assistant Engineers; as well as CRIMP–CReLIC Project Director Md. Abdul Khalek, Senior Executive Engineer Md. Latif Hossain, Executive Engineer Fatema Ismat Ara, Assistant Engineer Arpan Paul and expert consultants of CReLIC.
