Engr. Md. Abdul Khaleque, Project Director (Additional Charge), joined as the Executive Engineer of CReLIC on 22 September 2022 after completing his “Master in Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCSD)” degree from AIT Thailand. He worked as an Assistant Engineer at LGED headquarters, as an Upazila Engineer at Char Bhadrason Faridpur, Muksudpur Gopalgonj, Dumuria Khulna, Kumarkhali Kushtia & Ishwardi Pabna, and as a Senior Assistant Engineer at Pabna from February 2006 to September 2021. Mr. Khaleque was born in a noble Muslim family on 1 February 1978 in the Jhenaidah district: his father, the Late Md. Golam Mostafa and Mother Mrs. Majeda Beguem.
He took his primary education from his village, SSC from Shaheed Smrity Biddapith, Jhenaidah, in 1993 with 1st division and Diploma in Civil Engineering certificate from Bogura Polytechnic Institute with 1st division (6th in national Merit) in 1996. He completed his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) in 2002 (3rd in order of Merit). In 2022, Mr. Khaleque graduated from AIT Thailand with a Master’s in CCSD. In the meantime, he earned an MBA from Northern University, Bangladesh, and a PGD in Project Management from the Academy of Business Professionals.
Due to his interest in constantly learning new things to improve his skills in the workplace, he has taken a lot of professional training both domestically and abroad. In 2012, he attained training on “Rural infrastructure maintenance and management system” in the Philippines and Indonesia. In 2017, he took another foreign training on “Climate change and its adverse effects on developing countries” from Austria, Germany, and France. He also visited several countries, such as Slovakia, Malaysia, India, Singapore, Turkey, and Cambodia.
Engr. Md. Abdul Khaleque is a brilliant, honest, competent, hardworking, and sound engineer at LGED. He is a good trainer of procurement, quality control, construction management, and climate change. He is a Life member of IEB and a national pool member of e-GP Trainer. His contribution to the country’s overall socio-economic development through infrastructure development is unlimited. His interest, competence, and expertise in topical issues such as climate change, disaster risk reduction, and risk-informed development make him unique at LGED.
